Associate Professor

About me

I am currently an associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Prior to joining RPI, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the NEXTRANS Center at Purdue University. My expertise is in modeling, simulating, analyzing, and optimizing transportation systems with an emphasis on the impacts of emerging technologies and disruptive envents. My research seeks to solve problems related to interdependent systems resilience, connected autonomous vehicles, and electric vehicles, through using tools developed based on operations research, game theory, information theory, control, complex network, dynamical system, abstract algebra, and machine learning. Currently, I serve as a committee member on the Network Modeling Standing Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), an Editorial Board Member for Transportation Research Part B, a Subject Editor for Nonlinear Dynamics, an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Future Transportation, and a guest editor for several transportation journals. I am also a technical committee member for several international conferences.
